Immersing us with enigmatic sitar and a cosmic frequency, we are immediately hypnotized by Amir Haider‘s latest release Lovin’ You.
The rising artist from London plays an acoustic guitar elegantly and with charm as he sings, “Something’s happening to me lately, since you came into my life, I finally feel like I belong, and who I am is alright…”
Amir goes on to recount his feelings of being in love, where someone has improved his reality for the better as he sings, “I can’t stop lovin’ you…”
We love the British-Asian artist’s tone and range, and adore the sentiment and energy of the track which has a narrative of relatable and classic love.
Fused with sitar details throughout the song, we appreciate the nod to the artist’s heritage before experiencing a full verse in Hindi, as Amir brings his love story to life in one of his ancestral languages.
As with many artists, Amir has had a unique journey from performing with Amy Winehouse to pausing on releasing his own music for a few years, to reigniting his music career in 2020.
“I love everything from Elvis and Eric Clapton to Bollywood and my Asian roots. I want to put them all in a pot and mix them up real good” says Amir, when discussing his influences and unique blend of Eastern melodies, rock, folk and blues.
We have added Lovin’ You to our New Music Spotlight and have been streaming Amir‘s wider discography including his recent singles Taboo, I Will and Gunshot.
