Immersing us with hard hitting and pulsing industrial bass before a glass shattering effect, we enter a refined EDM landscape designed to motivate and power up as we experience sampled vocal details singing “concentrate” and an ongoing expansion. From waves of polished EDM to dirtier and more cerebral production elements, we are hypnotized by Buzz, the latest release from D!lemma.
Buzz as a name feels very suited to the soundscape, as we are fixated by an industrial synth frequency akin to Benny Benassi’s Satisfaction.
D!lemma is an electronic musician, digital artist, and producer who recently went through an ego death and is currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2019, D!lemma suffered a traumatic, life-changing brain injury that kept him away from a normal life, and music. The ability to listen and make music was taken away from him, with no light in sight. This experience in this darkness taught him to never give up on himself. Music was not only a healing process, but a creative outlet encouraging him to move forward in the world. He wants to help people going through something similar see that they can and will heal.
We love the intention that D!lemma has with his artistry, producing multi-dimensional soundscapes that are genre expansive. He aims to “create a space where an audience can explore the unexpected”. We are also in awe of the single artwork by ilustronauta.
Making music gives D!lemma the freedom to experiment and to be in the moment. It reminds him what it feels like to truly be alive. He creates music to give others an experience to step away from darkness to feel joy; inspiring them to always believe in themselves.
We have added Buzz to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been exploring D!lemma’s wider discography, although he does state that Buzz marks the start of his reinvention.
