Setting the frequency with an immersive synth, Embers opens her debut single, Bluebird with the introspective lyrics, “I’m in love with this city even though she sleeps, I’ll be away until she moves again under my feet, I’ve always loved you as my chaos, I, I didn’t know that you could be my peace…”
The track expands with electronic instrumentation and textures, which fuse seamlessly with Embers‘ sultry and breathy vocals, as she continues on an emotive journey. “I set my Bluebird free, cos I’m not holding on just cos she’s what I know…” sings the rising pop star from London.
Speaking on her growing career, Embers says, “In just a few short months, I’ve begun to build a loyal fan base on social media, and with plenty of music ready to be released throughout the rest of this year, this is just the beginning for Embers!”
“My fierce debut single Bluebird, was self produced and recorded in my London flat and will make you want to go night driving through the city that you love, whilst it blasts out through your speakers. A story of an evolving love affair with London, and letting go of what no longer serves you.”
Bluebird takes us on a cerebral journey, with moments of psychedelia, immersive electronica production, pulsing bass and sample details that really resonate with us. Embers‘ passion is tangible.
Self- recorded and produced entirely in Embers‘ London flat, Bluebird gives us the feels, makes us want to dance and in line with Embers’ recommendation, driving around the city with the song on maximum volume.
Embers describes Bluebird as being all about “letting go, evolving and getting back in touch with what brings you joy.”
She continues, “I’ve always felt like I’m in this chaotic, passionate, toxic love affair with London and the life I’ve built here. When the first lockdown hit I was forced to slowdown. Here began a really crazy time of self discovery, I fell in love with London in it’s peaceful state, I got sober, allowed myself to lose myself in my creativity.. and I let go of so much that didn’t serve me anymore.”
We have added the innovative rising artist’s debut single to our New Music Spotlight playlist and can’t wait to hear more from Embers!
