Immersing us with a slide and elegant and technically refined acoustic guitar, The Independent Sound set the tone for their latest release, I Feel Like I’m Missing. A pulsing drum starts to make us move as we are met with the lyrics, “Summer time in the city, always makes me feel high…”
A beautiful picture is painted by The Independent Sound with cute and futuristic vocal glitches and a unique and cohesive vocal delivery, as the vocalist gives us vulnerability and euphoria side-by-side as they also sing about missing their family.
We love the harmony textures that build and the journey that the track takes us on, we also can’t help stare in awe at the accompanying artwork which really brings to life the song in a more dimensional way.
Speaking on the release, The Independent Sound says, “I Feel Like I’m Missing is a danceable pop song about the thrilling, bittersweet experience of striking out into the big city on your own for the first time.”
There is an instrumental breakdown which is really enigmatic and we feel so enthralled by the total experience of the song.
