Setting the frequency with an enigmatic riser and celestial tones, Planet Fish open their latest single Passport in a multi-dimensional way. The sophomore single from the Italian duo has a pulsing bass, cosmic textures and wavering synths, all fused together cohesively to create a canvas where the textured vocals of the artists can play.
Planet Fish is a rising EDM duo who produce dance music. They sing in sync with their sonic creations which are influenced by 80s and 90s, and Passport is their second ever release.
Passport is a cerebral song designed to raise awareness of the hypocrisies of immigration laws and how we seek freedom for all. Antonio Grilli is the producer, composer and bass player, whilst Lisa Florio writes the songs, sings and plays drums.
“Feel free to change the route of the journey”, sings Lisa, whilst Antonio reminds us that “they hold the passport”.
We love activism in music, and are impressed with both releases from the rising Italian duo. Lisa likes several genres, from funk and darkwave to hip-hop and rap, jazz, rock and psychedelic music. Antonio likes funk, acid jazz and EDM. Their fusion is what Planet Fish is all about, and the duo say, “We mainly sing about social and ethical problems”.
We have added Passport to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been listening to Nation In A Mess, which was the debut single from Planet Fish.
