Setting the frequency with immersive strings and dynamic keys, Sadie Nix opens her debut single Taylor Case (That Means You), with an emotive vocal performance and the lyrics, “Now or Never playing on my radio, big dreams small town and the status quo, I had to save my self…”
We are already obsessed with Sadie Nix‘s chord choices, the production and the narrative of the song, which is about taking the risk to choose herself and manifest her dreams.
Speaking on the track, the emerging artist from Brighton says, “I think a lot of people would be interested in reading about someone who had a dream for a long time and despite being “too old” to start a career in music is giving it a go, making lyrically driven pop music that will speak to others who have had the same experiences.”
Taylor Case (That Means You) is Sadie Nix‘s first ever release and she says it is “about my experience of making decisions that pleased those around me and not putting myself first, until I finally got the courage to do it.”
“Putting my music out for the first time at 38 allows me draw on a life time of experiences that I think a lot of people will resonate with the lyrics.”
Lyrical highlights that are full of vulnerability, wisdom and optimism include, “From a life of mediocrity, I had a choice ’cause I knew you’d never leave…” and “my dreams came at a price, all I want to do is drive , towards my own life…”
We are excited to hear more from Sadie Nix and have added Taylor Case (That Means You) to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
