Setting the tone with an expanding synth which fuses into enigmatic keys with light textures, Grant Borland opens his immersive new composition, Weave.
As the strings come in, we are moved by the cinematic nature of the track and the adventure that the rising artist is taking us on. The pace begins the pick up in the song, lending itself to a more transcendental and emotive nature.
Speaking on the composition, Grant Borland says, “Weave is my latest single that came out earlier this month. It’s an ambient/neo-classical track with soft, intimate piano, warm strings, and light electronic percussion in the backend. It’s a track that pushed me to slow down and focus on being as authentic as I can be.”
We can sense the authenticity of the artist, as Weave would sit perfectly in a major Hollywood blockbuster or indie film. Reminding us of some great film composers like Clint Mansell, it is clear that Grant Borland is on track for greatness with his artistry. Unsurprisingly, Grant’s music can already be heard in movie trailers for Voyagers (Lionsgate), The Hunt (Universal Pictures), The Girl in the Woods (Peacock TV) and Luis Miguel: The Series (Netflix).
Grant‘s cites his influences as Olafur Arnalds, Tony Anderson, Nils Frahm, Max Richter and Peter Sandberg.
Speaking on the creation of Weave, Grant says “Weave is about slowing down and letting the spaces of silence speak just as much as the notes of music. It’s easy to forget to slow down in today’s busy climate, and weave was a song that reminded me to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.”
We are hypnotized and have been immersing ourselves in Grant Borland‘s wider discography including his 2021 Garden EP, and we have added Weave to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
