Gideon Foster releases vulnerable and introspective new single, Fatal Kiss

Setting the tone with a bouncing frequency that fades out to reveal some immersive drums and guitar, Gideon Foster opens his latest release, Fatal Kiss with the vulnerable lyrics, “one, two, make me blue, break me, break me…”

Fatal Kiss is full of lyrical highlights including the profound “nothing is what nothing is at all” and the sad “luck has a habit of fading away” before the hook, “shots outside, a fatal kiss, shots outside, what is this?”

The narrative of the song tells a story of the fading connection between the protagonist and his muse, who is fading away. There is an innate need for freedom from the story of Fatal Kiss, and we love the production and how it fuses with the rising artist’s voice and message. It reminds us of some songs by Placebo and Blur.

Speaking on the release, Gideon says, “This is the lead single from an upcoming album which will hopefully be released sometime during the summer “.

Gideon Foster, who is 52, is a singer songwriter based near Yorkshire and Manchester. Discussing his art, he says “my musical story is quite unusual, in that I didn’t write a song until I was 46 years old and, but over the last 6 years I have released several songs and am currently recording an album”.

We fully believe there is no place for ageism in music, in fact, wisdom and profound lyricism can mature and come to fruition over time, and this is what we love about Gideon’s project.

He continues, “Music has always had a place in my life, mainly classical in my early years but I’ve always had a guitar in the house and despite life taking priority  for many years I lucky enough to have the time to sit down and write over the last few years.”

“I don’t like to tie myself to any particular genre, style or influence as I believe everything has merit even if it doesn’t resonate personally with us . I try to bring a uniqueness to my music in its style, which has also been a journey of self discovery for me.”

We have been immersing ourselves in Gideon Foster‘s wider discography including Tick Tock and Like You Like Me, and have added Fatal Kiss to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
