Setting the vibe with a pulsing electronic beat which builds melodically with percussion and intricate synths and risers, we are immersed into Mersi‘s new single Acid Time with the reassuring vocals singing “It’s gonna be alright!”
As the song expands, we are taken on a super dimensional journey through time and space. Mersi created the track entirely in his home recording studio using only synths, samples and his musical skills.
Speaking on his intention, the rising artist says “the goal was to create a positive song that would be my response to the difficult time we are all going through right now due to the COVID experience.”
“I believe that positivity helps us live a better life, and I will be more than happy if this song makes you feel good”.
We love the purpose that the track is created with and this slice of acid house is retro yet futuristic with a characteristic synth arpeggio, ostinato funky guitar and sampled brass section. He says he is “exploring the funkier side of EDM!”
“My music is based on dance music, but also influenced by my long career as a live musician. Therefore, I also use harmonic techniques close to the song form and thus a strange mix of both worlds is created. I like to weave jazz techniques and my own sound elements into my music”, he continues.
We are totally hypnotized by Mersi‘s soundscape and have been exploring his wider discography including What’s Going On and Come Baby. Acid Time has also been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
