Setting the frequency with an immersive bass note, soft rock guitar and refined drums, Forever opens their new single So Far Away with the moving and introspective lyrics, “How do I know if I’m in love? Can someone help me understand?“
The emotive vocals go on to tell us a story of a connection between the protagonist and their muse, and how they are “in love with someone so far away”. Dealing with the frustrations of a long distance relationship can be really hard and this has been brought to life poetically and eloquently by Forever.
The middle-8 features stunning ethereal vocals fused with magnetic production and a drum build that really texturizes our emotions and the relatable subject matter of the song.
Speaking on their uniqueness, the Swedish band says, “We are doing something different and we think that different is exactly what we need today. We need to spread happiness and freedom now, help us spread the love like 1969!”
Forever consists of childhood friends, Jacob Johnsson on vocals and rhythm guitar and Niklas Jacobsson on lead guitar and background vocals.
Forever is a combination of a lot of the greats with inspiration from The Rolling Stones, Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Queen to name a few. There is a certain genuine “Vinyl” feeling to these 60’s and 70’s bands by which they are inspired by.
Speaking further on the track, the duo says, “So Far Away is about a heart breaking goodbye. With any heart break it’s easy to get lost inside your own mind and a lot of feelings of regret will wash over you and there are so many questions that will never be answered.”
We have added So Far Away to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in the band’s wider discography including their album Yesterday is a Dream.
