Sydney rising artist, Taylor B-W is ready to forgive and forget on emotive R&B-fusion bop, In Ur Net

Fused with a pulsing and refined electronic beat, Sydney-based artist Taylor B-W opens her new single In Ur Net with the visually emotive lyrics, “Blood pulsing through my body, heart shakes like an earthquake, you should be feeling sorry, for the mess you made…”

The narrative of the song tells the story of the protagonist who my have ended a particular relationship, but still wants her ex lover back and might just be ready to forgive. In Ur Net is an exquisitely produced slice of pop R&B from the rising artist, it’s playful, with smart lyricism and poetic tones. The hook, “Forgive and forget, coz I’m caught up in your net” is really catchy and will stay in your head all day like a mantra.

Adding to the artist’s growing discography which features I’m So Broke and Be Mine, In Ur Net continues a fusion tradition for Taylor, blending genres including R&B, reggaeton and contemporary pop.

Speaking on the track, Taylor says the song is about “getting lost in obsession and lust for someone who doesn’t deserve it, In Ur Net covers feelings of emotional entrapment and the all-encompassing overwhelming feelings that can come with it.” For this release, Taylor teamed up with producer Liam Quinn at Alexandria’s Ralph Street Studios.

Speaking further on the track, the rising artist says, “It’s like you are stuck in deep water, trying to swim up to the surface, but something keeps sucking you deeper and deeper, giving you tunnel vision.”

For the music video, Taylor worked with filmographer Desmond Hoo around different areas of Sydney’s inner west including Sydney Park and Newtown.

“I came across Desmond Hoo’s work randomly while flicking through Instagram and I reached out to him to see if he would be interested in collaborating on my music video. I sent him a Pinterest mood board and an extensive YouTube playlist with videos that emulated my vision.”

Taylor continues, “Des had a really fresh take on my initial vision, by delving into the sentiment behind my lyrics. He wanted to create an intimate ode to the cataclysm that is love, an anthem for those who get caught in love’s web. With a series of carefully composed frames we feel a claustrophobia between me and my partner – without the camera ever revealing the partner’s face. I’m caught in his orbit, unable to let go.”
