Setting the tone with a moody grunge vocal and fierce and textured guitar work, Love Ghost have teamed up with Vollny on an epic new track, Цепи, which means “Chains”.
Reminiscent of Rage Against The Machine and Disturbed, but with a futuristic twist, the song is about “breaking free from the chains of trauma, at any cost”.
Цепи features thought-provoking lyrics in both Russian and English delivering a metal meets trap vibe, with elements of industrial rap and emo cohesively fused together to create a fresh and unique offering from the LA-based band.
Lyrical highlights include the introspective “hope you don’t see me how I see myself” and the profound “no matter what you say it wasn’t gentle, no matter how you play it, I’m resentful, this demon’s always fucking with my mental”.
We could see the song getting major synch deals in a moody movie franchise or in a performance scene in a HBO or Showtime TV show. Production is cinematic and immersive and the guitar performances are exquisite.
“The new music that’s coming from Love Ghost is just our storytelling of the things happening in our lives at the moment,” says band frontman Finnegan Bell. “These songs, to me, are really all threaded together by time. We are in an insane period of history, and therefore we are writing some insane music.”
Known for their hyper-expressive songs, Love Ghost is composed of Finnegan Bell (lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Stevens (bass, backing vocals), Daniel Alcala (guitar, engineer backing vocals), Cory Batchler (keys, backing vocals) and Daniel Alcala (drums, backing vocals).
Цепи is featured in our New Music Spotlight playlist and we have been immersing ourselves in the band’s iconic discography which includes Closure and Wolfsbane.
