Setting the scene with rolling drums, an exquisite panning synth and super bold percussive elements, Norway’s Temperature Falls have released their new single, Reach, which is also serves as a taster of what were can expect from the rising duo’s yet untitled fourth album.
The opening lyrics and profound and conceptual, leading with “I feel like I’m in vacuum”, additional lyrical highlights include the optimistic “reaching for something bigger”, the introspective “my mind is tender, like bricks on the wall, it cracks”, and the inspiring “have a faith, the time will wait…”
Delivering a brand of alternative trip-hop alternative with Reach, we are totally hypnotized by the production and texture vocals. We love the psychedelic elements to the soundscape and drum and bass with atmospheric synths, which the duo describes as a “haunting soundscape, sure to be the soundtrack to hazy nights under the moonlight.”
Revealing more about the meaning behind the lyrics, Temperature Falls say, “Reach is the passion for a dream or something you want in life, and the difficulty it can be because of your surroundings. The song is more like a constant reminder that you should never stop searching and reaching for what you want. Even when people around you try to stop you.”
We adore the empowering message and are excited by the wider discography of the duo who cite influences including Bjork, Massive Attack and Pearl Jam. The duo features Norwegian vocalist and lyricist Camilla and British multi-instrumentalist Ian J. Ward.
We have been immersing ourselves in Temperature Falls’ three albums called, Temperature Falls, I Want To Go Where You Go and Nobody To Believe In Anymore.
The ambient new single Reach is also featured in our New Music Spotlight playlist! We cannot wait to hear the new album later this year!
