Setting the tone with vibrant electric guitar, Electric High open their new song, Colorful White Lies with the lyrics, “you’re the only one freaking me out…’
Piercing yet textured vocals sing the hook as they fuse with the drums and evolve into a heavier electric guitar energy that would set a stadium alight.
When commenting on the narrative of the song, the Electric High says, “People tell lies all the time. Either to hide something, to get away with something, or just a little white lie to cover up something totally innocent that nobody needs to know about. Something you possibly shouldn’t have done. But sometimes white lies stop being completely white, and start changing color…”
This introspective theme is the foundation of the track’s message amidst “sleazy, heavy, Skynyrd meets Aerosmith-sounding riff” as the band described the sound, encouraging us to rock our and dance.
We love the guitar solo and super catchy hooks, all designed to make us more consciously aware of how a lie can spiral! When citing their influences, the band includes Wolfmother, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath. Iconic.
Colorful White Lies was recorded in Solslottet Studio, Bergen, Norway, produced by Electric High & Iver Sandøy, and has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist. Electric High are set to release much more this year, and were cannot wait to immerse ourselves further!
