Setting the tone with emotive plucked guitar and rolling drums, Jesse Grossi opens his latest release, Outcast with the introspective lyrics “I close my eyes, I sit and pretend, I think about the times when you called me a friend…”
The Los Angeles based rising artist delivers a thoughtful and playful song in line with some of Jesse’s influences which include Sublime, Rancid, Green Day and Nirvana.
Speaking on the themes of the track, Jesse says, “Outcast is a song about thinking outside the box and creating your own identity, I embrace being different on this one!“
We love the driving bass lines that fuse with the acoustic guitar, the overall vibe of the song is really positive and empowering and we love Jesse’s message and sense of nostalgia designed for present day soundscapes.
We have been listening to his wider discography including Broken Que Sera Sera and Queen of Spades. Outcast is also featured in our New Music Spotlight playlist!
