Feeling like a trip to the astral realm, PR6TTY E sets the tone for his latest release, Games, with wild and bright synths and the lyrics, “Fucked up again, don’t know what you say, I’m too far away”.
The 18-year-old artist says that he is “trying to bring the energy of the late 70’s punk rock scene to electronic music beats, through powerful and catchy vocal work”. We definitely agree that this chosen path makes sense for the rising star.
Games translates with elements of Linkin Park meets Kanye, so when PR6TTY E cited some of his influences as The Prodigy, Lil Peep, Crystal Castles, Travis Scott along with The Sex Pistols and The Stooges, it all came together.
He says, “I like to define my music as electropunk, but it blends elements from pop, techno, punk, rock and trap.”
We love the glitchy video edited by VV Prod and directed by PR6TTY E himself with Maximus White-Villmouth, which feels like something BRTHR would make. PR6TTY E‘s performance is cute and evocative with clear potential for expansion.
The song itself was written by PR6TTY Es, and mixed and mastered by Axl MGT, with production by SXZU.
Themes of the song are about cocaine-filled parties and the artist’s restless quest to success in the music industry, something a lot of people can relate to. PR6TTY E is deeply passionate about philosophy and spends his time reading the likes of Hegel, Kant, Nietzsche and Wittgenstein. The rising artist adds, “I also enjoy poetry like Charles Baudelaire and Fernando Pessoa.”
We are excited for what is to come from PR6TTY E. Watch the video for Star Cluster, his debut single, below and stay tuned for more PR6TTY E updates, including when the enigmatic artist will finally be on streaming platforms!
