Setting the tone with refined guitars, rockstar baddies The Rapports open their new single, Wanna Be with the introspective lyrics, “How many times can you go blind? I’ll take you to the places we’ve left behind…”
With vibrant production, we love the band’s frequency of story telling and the extent they have gone to in order to release a polished single and video.
Wanna Be is an exquisite taste of the brand of indie rock that The Rapports have to offer, with punchy melodies, electric riffs and a pulsating rhythm. The narrative is a story of how the band want to make it. We are particularly moved by the epic guitar solo in the song!
The high production music vide, features the band working in a factory juxtaposed with vibrant and hypnotising red toned performance scenes. The band deliver great acting and emotive expressions throughout the clip, not to mention the wigs, iconic.
The Rapports is a four piece Indie Rock band from Brighton, south east of England who wear their love of 90’s and 00’s Brit Pop and Indie proudly on their sleeves. Formed in 2016 during songwriter and singer Thomas Skilton’s days at art school studying sculpture, the band play to packed hometown crowds, counting performances at the Great Escape Festival and supporting Cast to a sold out audience at Komedia as highlights. More recently, at the end of 2021 they hit the road with Creeping Jean for their autumn UK tour and pass through Southampton, Liverpool, Manchester, Brighton and Sheffield.
The band cite influences including The Kinks, David Bowie, Marc Bolan, The Walkmen, The Libertines, and of course The Strokes. Their debut album is due in Autumn 2022 and in the meantime, you can stream their existing discography and explore more on our New Music Spotlight playlist.
