Setting the tone with alternative rnb meets emo rap frequency, HomieJohn opens his new single, Old News, with the vulnerable lyrics, “Ain’t got no damn time for the old news, I love my ladies, cos they love how I’m soulful, hope you don’t think nothing bad of me, it’s hard to ignore you, my last lover hurt me badly, these scars are the full truth…”
Speaking on the song, HomieJohn says, “This track reflects upon my current experience with relationships and love, and how deeply such things impact me. The raw emotion put into each song is what separates me from many artists in my range, which is much more appealing to listeners.”
Switching it up from his current discography of sounds, young vocalist HomieJohn, who is 16-years old, is gathering momentum in his growth. We love the production and HomieJohn’s unique and profound delivery on the track.
Some of the rising artist’s inspirations include Memoria XI, Charlie Puth and Juice WRLD.
When asked what are some his currents goals, John said, “As an artist, I strive on making a positive impact on my generation and hopefully those to come, be able to do music full-time … and collaborate with some of my dream artists”.
