Accompanied by a galactic and literally out of this world visual that parallels the narrative of the song, Germany-based composer, Cris Cap has released his latest single, Say Yes featuring Junior.
Giving us a contemporary pop frequency that is also reminiscent of Jamiroquai and Michael Jackson, the production of the track is brilliant and lends itself to a groovy, cinematic energy. Cris cites influences ranging from Al Green, Chaka Khan and Steely Dan over to Jordan Rakei, Tom Misch and Vulfpeck, which we feel come through in this adventure.
We love the way the detail of the song is brought to life by the music video, it’s all about the little nuances and great acting from the astronauts!
Speaking on Say Yes, Cris Cap profoundly says, “The song is about falling in love, and also about deciding. Because sometimes when losing one’s head you are in a situation when you have to choose whether to follow your feelings and go all the way – or not. And that is not easy to do – especially when you’ve just lost your head.”
“Taking the chance and also the risk of failing can be a real hard decision. Because if you eventually don’t go for it and don’t commit to love, you could regret it for the rest of your life. When I fell in love the last time, it was quite difficult for me. I was totally in love but really uncertain about changing my life totally. I was lost, struggled and fought with myself for some months.”
“Eventually, I managed to decide on a whole new life and set out on a new path. I said YES – and that was the right thing to do! And this is what the lyrics of SAY YES are about.”

With regards to his intention with music as a whole, Cris says, “With my music I want to give people the positive emotions that are within them. Sometimes those are hidden, but music has the ability to bring them out. Music is unique, it gives us emotions that no other art can produce. It is the art that can also console us very well and help us to get through very difficult moments.”
