Where Are We Going is one of the recent singles from Canadian band, Apollo Rising (also make sure to check out Passenger). The video for Where Are We Going opens with the duo playing live to a near empty room, followed by them leaving the venue to question their future. The song kicks in with the introspective opening lyrics, “Are we making a break through in desperate times, is it the end or the debut, is this a sign?”
The video shows the journey of the duo as the ask questions and do what they can to survive. The landscape for independent artists can be expansive and bleak at the same time and Where Are We Going beautifully philosophises that with excellent acting and emotive music video performances from Apollo Rising.
Speaking on the video, the duo says, “The video reflects our journey as independent artist, sharing a message of dedication, perseverance and rediscovering our love of making music.”
The video has epic cinematography and shows off stunning aerial shots of Apollo Rising performing, surrounded by colourful autumn scenery contrasted by the grimy alleyway survival mode shots.
Apollo Rising say that, “The visuals illustrate the juxtaposition between the hopeful and euphoric chorus with the skeptical, uncertainty of the verses.”
