Setting the scene with epic strings and guitars, Steve Pointmeier opens his latest release, Sway, with the lyrics, “Sun’s coming up, my head’s going down, gonna sleep for a while on the outskirts of town”.
The vibe of the song is classic country perfection, but with Pointmeier’s own unique frequency. The artist sings about essentially going with the wind, “I sway too much, I go where the wind blows, I bend when I feels it’s a good thing to do”.
Working on boundary issues and a bid for freedom is something that we can all absorb some wisdom on, and that is exactly what Pointmeier is sharing with us on this track.
We love his delivery and charm, and have been exploring Steve’s wider discography including I’m Not Falling For You and All Point Back To U.
Sway marks the first in a series of four releases, and is a co-write with industry buddies Clayton Bellamy and Steve Fox. The violin and mandolin which lend themselves to an immersive energy for the song are played by Jennee Fleenor. We especially vibed with the build and the emotion that transpired with that.
Will the protagonist of the story settle down or will he Sway too much and go where the wind blows? We will just have to keep listening!
