Setting the tone with a bold, refined guitar and psychedelic details alongside double drums, the opening lyrics of Everything But The Everything‘s new single “The Story” are “first time that i heard that i heard the story, got off the tube and away we go...”
A sense of adventure into the void is definitely the theme in The Story, a narrative-driven track. Production is bright and glistening with textures that really help envelope the listening experience.
Speaking on the track, the band says, “This is the song where Everything But The Everything found it’s groove. All the pieces started to come together.”
“The song is the about the weight of the troubles in the world that bring us down and are spoon fed to us every day via the daily news. The story changes every day.”
Guest vocalist and featured artist, Sophia Prise “towers over the vocal track in Siouxsie Sioux form. The way everyone contributed let me know we were on the right path”, says the band of their collaborator and the alignment felt with the joining of forces.
Drums are performed by Landon Cisneros with Andrew Gomez on the synths, guitar and bass by Izzy The Gent and the song is produced by Rex Shelverton.
Everything But The Everything cite Billy Idol, ZZ Top and Green Day as some of their influences, which we can really feel breathe life into The Story. The single was recorded at Secret Studios in San Francisco.
