Setting the tone with eloquent and bright guitar strumming, Jack Tierney opens the song with the lyrics, “Set a path for me, I’ll let you decide, it’s far for the course if you take the ride, I don’t know about you but I’m feeling so down.”
In their melancholia, the Winter Park based artist feels like they’re “selling tickets to the new low, I don’ know about you but I’m feeling so down“, followed by the introspective, “all these times I could see, what it is or what it could be”.
We are in love with the vocal harmonies, they’re so enchanting and sit so perfectly on the track. Jack plays guitar, bass, drums, keys and harmonica and is from Louisville, Kentucky. He cites Bob Dylan and The Beatles as references, and we feel that with his warmth, vibe, eloquence and themes.
When discussing his inspirations, Jack says, “the song is steeped in Hunter S. Thompson imagery and takes the writer’s philosophy and plays on it.”
On his intention, the Florida based rising artist says, “I tried to make a cinematic snippet and I think I succeeded. ‘Buy The Ticket; follows a singer who is unsure of their path in life and is overwhelmed by an ever changing world that surrounds them.”
