Dubai-based rising artist, Shébani has just released her new single, ‘Burn Me Out’. Opening with the lyrics, “See my mind’s a bit screwed up, I keep thinking you will hurt me, at times it even fucks me up, I keep seeing you with her, it hurts me”, the track is a metaphor for a cycle that repeats itself.
With intricate and wavy guitar and refined instrumentation, the track is super dimensional and cohesive with Shébani‘s exquisite vocal offering. The expressive artist brings to life the emotional trauma, gaslighting and trust issues collected from a relationship in the narrative of the song that has rippled into a new relationship.
Speaking on the track and her message, Shébani says, “Often, we are stuck in between healing and succumbing, but ‘Burn Me Out’ emphasizes we should always choose to heal.”
The track evolves with the more introspective, “You’d see my logic and it’ll make more sense to you, if I could just open up my heart and invite you in, you’d see my reason and it’ll make more sense to you”, and the empowering, “I’m done with all the gaslighting, done with hurting, the begging, the screaming, the hiding, done with the lies.”
