Following his 2021 release on Sony Music with ‘Die For Me’, Leicestershire-based JOZUA is back with an ethereal deep house banger, ‘Diamond Eyes’.
The track opens with a sensual riser and the lyrics, “I could reach and touch you, but I’m afraid that I might love you…” as it echoes off, setting the tone for the expansion of the track.
JOZUA’s continues the narrative with bright bells overlaced with astral vocals as the beat develops and the songs expands into a refined deep house bop.
“Baby make me nervous, you do that on purpose. Easy in your silence…” continues the vocal, super textured and quite exquisite really.
The refrain is super clever and goes, “you’ve got the most beautiful diamond eyes, I’ve ever seen in my whole life, the skyline is jealous, I’m looking at you as you shine.”
Production is clean, bright and has a euphoric yet with an enigmatic punch. The lyrics are poetic and sensual, intimate and profound.
Unsurprisingly, the song has already received “Track of The Week” on BBC Introducing Leicester and is spearheading his emergence in the UK Deep House scene.
JOZUA, aka Josh Bond records where they sleep, and speaking on the reality of this, says, “The track was recorded in my bedroom studio, as I am a bedroom producer. ‘Bedroom’ is a pretty loose word though, as it has pretty much been transformed into a studio that I sleep in at this point (laughs).”
Bond continues, “I was really aiming to create a track that had a super ethereal vibe, with vocals that hit in the right way to give you goosebumps on the right notes, but I also can’t help myself when it comes to groovy baselines, so Diamond Eyes is the marrying of those two things together.“
“For me, the magic in music comes from each listener taking something unique away from the track, and projecting their own experiences into the lyrics. The track has a meaning for me, but I would much prefer the listener to listen without me seeding anything for them, that’s where the real magic of listening to music is for me, to discover it’s individual meaning for you for yourself. “
The 21-year old artist’s love for music began at the early age of just twelve years old, when he was given my first guitar and began learning covers of all sorts of genres, including rock anthems from legendary bands such as AC/DC, and even electronic music from artists such as Skrillex. His passion quickly grew, leading him to begin to create my own original music and dabbling in remixes starting at 14 years old.
