British alternative pop artist, Xander Cameron has just released a hook-laden ode to the late and iconic Whitney Houston. Cameron delivers clean vocals, over a groovy, accessible, retro-soul vibe.
The multi-instrumentalist plays guitar, synths and piano and has built the production themselves along with Chris Hughes. Even though they sing that they have been “praying for a set of lungs like Whitney”, the British artist really does deliver a seamless vocal on the track which is highlighted by exquisite guitar clarity.
There is even a saxophone solo (we can’t get enough of this), additional supporting vocals which really help to dimensionalize the track! The final choruses featuring soaring layered vocals which really showcase the refined production of the track.
Xander Cameron’s theological songwriting combined with their wider dystopian angle of music production, exemplified in his track Famous, will hopefully set the artist on track for further success.
