Khx05 (pronounced “Chaos”) is a rising force in rap and we are here to stan. Khx05 is rapper and multi-disciplinary artist based in Durham, NC with Gullah-Geechee cultural roots. They began their journey in 2011, dancing professionally in the queer arts communities of North Carolina which led them to begin crafting their own songs to perform at live shows in many venues through the south.
Two mixtapes later, they met Suzi Analogue who invited them to the Never Normal Soundsystem to amplify their strong sound, piercing lyrics and banging beats. Their music slithers through genres and brings energy of resistance and liberation.
Consistent over the last year with their releases, Khx05 is set to release the BLXCK KXT EP on May 7 following single releases since May 2020 including Trouble, Shadow Freestyle, Izwe Lethu, Siren and BLXCK KXT – along with a remix. Their rap game and visual identity is flawless, embodying heroes of times past and future. We love their artworks and cannot wait to hear more from Khx05.
