Today marks the launch of a new era in creative media for a new generation with the debut of Chapter Z magazine, helmed by visionary multi-disciplinary talent Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah.
It is very clear that the old media machine is struggling, you can see this on social media numbers and lack of trust from the new generation. Major Condenast publications are still putting animal cruelty on the covers of their most “progressive” issues in 2020, which again shows how little understanding of the roots of oppression and violence to humanity and our collective these old school outlets really have. Challenging the traditionally limited organisation of publications and their curation, Chapter Z is a publication for all, and comes directly with core values of: Authenticity, Creativity, Diversity, Inclusion & Innovation.
This has all been demonstrated today with the launch of features and artwork showcasing talent including performance artist and style icon Tayce, an essay from Ashley Tamuno Burr, Black is Black – a beautiful poem by Darkwah themself and a music feature discussing consciousness and artistry with your fave, NEO 10Y.
As part of their manifesto, Chapter Z believes in uplifting and providing platforms for young talent – whether through fashion stories connecting young designers with institutional icons, enabling young writers to interview established stars, to developing brand collaborations for young influencers. The team consists of Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah who is Founder and Editor in Chief, David Oldenburg as Creative Director, Jack Pengally for social media, Jason Okundaye on Arts & Culture, Teddy Jackson as Music Editor, Sammy Cullis for Fashion & Beauty and fashion writer Beca Montenegro.
