Likely as a result of how vocal I am in support of cannabis and plant medicine in 3D and online, especially since the Independent’s article about my unique circumstance in relation to the plant, being prescribed in one country and unable to access (until recently) in the UK, my role as a cannabis enthusiast and in turn CBD influencer has somewhat expanded.
I was invited this week to experience a CBD facial and hair treatment by Live True London (a progressive salon with three London branches). I have never been happier to see the plant medicine industry expanding into beauty and grooming, and so of course I said yes to supporting the salon’s venture into this space.
The all-natural, unique facial uses four CBD-infused products – a stem cell and Hyaluronic serum, an anti-ageing mask, a brightening facial cream, and an eye cream packed with peptides made by MGC Derma. If you’re visiting the Vauxhall branch, ask for Ruth for your facial treatment – Ruth has incredible attention to detail, symmetry in hand motion (I am obsessed with this) and her aura are incredible. The hair treatment used shampoo and conditioner from Dr Organic.
The treatments worked together to leave my skin energised, calm, brightened, and deeply moisturised but I wanted to stress that we have CBD receptors all over our skin and the once channelled, the beauty benefits from absorption are incredible in addition to anxiety reducing, anti carcenogic benefits and consciousness evolution:
Vitamin absorption, including A, C, D, and E, which all work together to create tight skin, that is both moisturised and protected from the sun
Reduced breakouts – CBD oil provides your skin with healthy fatty acids, which are often found to be lacking in people with acne. Plus, it has antibacterial properties which treat infection (a major contributor to acne) – obviously make sure you are coupling this with a plant based diet to work from the inside out!
And number three is what I always want to mention to people – cannabis as a plant, no matter how you consume it, has anti and reverse ageing qualities so treatments that include CBD will result in a younger look – according to a recent study, cannabinoid receptors in the brain, interact with CBD to increase our body’s natural ability to grow new skin cells. This means that CBD can boost your body’s regenerative process and create younger, more youthful skin. Again, coupled with a plant based diet, this is literal scientific fact.
The treatments are available in Live True London’s three salons from now, with the hair treatment from £25 and the 75-minute facial starting at £85.
