Last night, I had the honour of experiencing the premiere of the new film from The House of Rolls-Royce to pre-empt the release of the iconic new Rolls-Royce Phantom next year. The animated film was screened on one of the LG screens in Piccadilly, as we overlooked from the roof of the iconic Picturehouse Central. This was my first Rolls experience since I was in Dubai staying at the Burj Al Arab this time last year where they have a fleet or Rolls-Royce’s for all guests.
Onto the detail of the film – I’ll let you watch the first episode before going into more detail!
The Premiere: Episode 1 – ‘The Spirit of Ecstasy’ is the first episode of The House of Rolls-Royce series, ‘The Spirit of Ecstasy’, retells the story of the muse that has guided and inspired the world’s most celebrated luxury house for the past 105 years.
The familiar voice you will hear is none other than Academy Award winning actress Kate Winslet, a great fit for this project on so many levels. She recounts the history of Rolls-Royce in the first segment which is really succinct and informative, considering the history the brand truly has.
The visuals from the film itself are completely hypnotising as you can see in detail below too. The film uses cutting edge motion capture and 3D scanning techniques to bring back to life one of the most fascinating legends in the mythology of Rolls-Royce – how and why the Spirit of Ecstasy, which is the most recognised luxury icon in the world, came to be.
