With summer just around the corner – and if you’re in LA, then all the time, so yolo – it’s time to start thinking about the beach body, your ideal selfie skin tone, the minor details and the ones that count on a more intimate level. So with that in mind, I present May’s Grooming Guide with appearances from Tom Ford, Percy Nobleman and Biotherm Homme.
First up, Mr Tom Ford himself has added to the roster of male grooming products available from the brand (based on his personal regimen, of course) – and yes, we finally have an exfoliating face wash in the mix! As Tom Ford said, “Fine grooming is the mark of a modern gentleman. It is the way a man presents the best version of himself to the world”, so with that in mind, the detail and forethought on the new product ranges couldn’t be more ideal. Launching in June 2016, new innovations include Tom Ford for Men Brow Gelcomb, exclusively designed for men’s brows, Shave Oil and Exfoliator.
The exfoliator leaves you with a wonderfully fresh sensation from the micro granules whereas its sister product, the Oud face wash has more of a woody feel. Moving onto the Gelcomb – I never thought I would need one of these, and in fact, every make up artist that has ever worked with me or done my make up for a shoot or TV etc has said that I would look better with a more defined brow – and it really does work. I think it is something I will save for special occasions and when doing my own make up for camera work, but it definitely adds a dimension! It also only retails at £32 and will last you quite some time!
Moving onto Percy Nobleman and the Face & Stubble Moisturiser and Face & Stubble Wash. The reason I love this Percy Nobleman is the ideology of catering specifically to a gentleman with a bit of scruff. I’ve had a small amount of facial hair on varied scales for quite some years, so finding something specific like this that isn’t just for full on beards (which, let’s be real – the trend died faster than you can say “shave me”) is quite the dream. The post-use sensation is zesty with a hint of musk and another highlight is the fully monochromatic branding – for those of you that know me and my vibe – will understand this better than most!
Finally, I wanted to share with you the new Biotherm Homme campaign and behind the scenes video with the one and only David Beckham. It’s great to see Becks being more vocal and he seems much more confident with it – and with Biotherm Homme! Beckham has become the first global ambassador for the men’s branch of the L’Oréal-owned Parisian skincare brand first founded in 1952.
