April so far has definitely been a culture-rich month, which makes it really tough to narrow down the must-haves!
From a music perspective, it is without a doubt the phenomenal new album SUPER from Pet Shop Boys. Politically skewed with tracks like The Dictator Decides – the record is an intricately constructed electronic dance opus with strong PSB signature but also with a very refined 2016 contemporary and yet timeless feel.
On the grooming front, and stepping up the ante on the volume range already available from Sachajuan comes the Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. Let’s go back to why Sachajuan really stands out as a brand from the outset – like the rest of the range it is formulated with Sachajuan’s Ocean Silk Technology. The thickening products leave the hair with a heat protective layer making it perfectly prepared for heat-based styling – at the same time as adding volume to your look. Ideal for Spring now that we’re banishing the beanies.
With style in mind, I wanted to introduce you too a new favourite on the sunglasses front – HOOK LDN particularly the black Parklife frames pictured below – more to come on that! They’re handmade constructed from 100% Acetate with precise hand polished 3-barrel hinges and 100% UVA and UVB protection so that you’re always on the safe side.
Finally, with Father’s Day around the corner in the UK on 19 June, Johnnie Walker Blue Label has partnered with M VICTORIA STREET to create a four-course menu available exclusively on the 17th, 18th and 19th June. The dining experience is perfectly paired with the prestigious blend through elegant serves and infused ingredients.
I had the honour of experiencing this first-hand last week where we were welcomed with The Blue Rose, a cocktail infused with Johnnie Walker Blue Label and orange and rose water. This was followed by two micro courses and then the main event of the beef short rib, braised for 72 hours in a fine Johnnie Walker Blue Label scotch marinade with sugar and spices, which combine to intensify the flavour of the meat. To round off the meal, M VICTORIA STREET’s infamous Blue Cheese Ice Cream, perfectly paired with the Den Duet a Johnnie Walker Blue Label cocktail. Definitely worth testing out!
