Last week was spent in what can only be described as a paradise within a vastness of expansive desert – Egypt’s Soma Bay. We spent five days exploring the resort – comprised of a number of hotels, golf clubs, diving centres, spas and beaches.
The tag line Egypt’s Best Kept Secret is 100% on point. The experience was beyond unique. I’ve included a visual diary of our week below and you can also check out Ella’s blog for more shoots and details on the culinary experiences.
My personal highlights included:
Dinner at The Kempinski’s Bamboo Shoot
An incredible luxury sushi bar hidden in the depths of Soma Bay’s Kempinski Hotel serving Pan Asian cuisine
Thalasso Spa Experience
An hour long and rather intense salt water massage experience situated in the hotel we were staying at – La Residence des Cascades. Guides from within the spa took us through a rigorous and relaxing treatment programme that stayed true to pre-Industrial revolution Egyptian culture.
The Bay Itself
Pictured above, it was ideal for windsurfing, snorkeling (the Orca Dive centre is situated around the corner) and relaxing – the actual bay of Soma Bay has to be the most visually astounding and placidly breathtaking, turquoise Red Sea hidden gem.
