As a follow up to the tracks Prime and Catch comes what is definitely my favourite Allie X track to date, ‘Bitch’. Evolving into a darker space from the previous tracks, Bitch sets Allie X apart sonically from previous comparisons as a hybrid pop star and legitimately sees her coming into her own.
The entire aesthetic of this track is rebellious from production through to lyrical content (in the most literal sense) and the subtle and clean structure stepping away from the synth pop chorus of Prime. Bucking the trend appears to be what Allie X is here to help pioneer. Bitch is almost reminiscent of an early 2000s acid-trip high school horror movie soundtrack – something that has been missing from the pop scene for so long. It really works.
Allie X is currently based in LA via Canada and signed to Neon Gold Records.
