Louis Vuitton and BMW, Louis Vuitton and BMW, Louis Vuitton and BMW. It makes sense right? Well, obviously. Granted Mercedes Benz has dominated the luxury German car for the fashion industry market – in fact it has been a hot minute since BMW did something major (remember when Franca Sozzani designed a 7-Series?) in fashion. However, it was literally just announced that Louis Vuitton has teamed with BMW to produce what it calls the “luggage of the future” – the world’s first high-end carbon-fiber luggage, designed to fit into the carmaker’s new BMW i8 rechargeable hybrid sports vehicle.
We’re talking a four-piece luggage set consisting of soft, flexible bags and semi-rigid thermoformed cases made of a woven charcoal-gray carbon fiber fabric with a perforated microfiber lining and laminated with an electric-blue coating. Sounds amazing and perfectly in line with the eco friendly nature of the i8.
