Today saw the unveiling of Louis Vuitton’s latest Curated Shelf at the New Bond Street Maison “Librarie”; and this season’s collaborator? The one and only David Bowie – current face of the Louis Vuitton “L’invitation au Voyage” advertising campaigns.
So what can we expect from Bowie’s book choices? Traditionally, the shelf is set to provide a unique and intimate insight into the psyche of the artist, both visually and by selection alone. Specific editions of specific books are chosen, even if it means flying all around the world to source them…I mean, Louis Vuitton is the industry leader in travel after all.
His choices (and specific visual aesthetic attributed to each book) serve as glimpse into a lifetime of creativity (pictured above is Bowie’s choice of cover for ‘Octobriana and the Russian Underground’).
