Last night saw the official unveil of luxury Italian brand Sportmax’s first eyewear collection in collaboration with Cutler and Gross. Never have I experienced a sunglass collaboration that paid so much attention to the genuine shared ethos of both brands. Granted we saw Moncler’s Pharrell Williams collection last week which “put the branding on the idea, not the idea on the branding”, to a certain effect the Sportmax and Cutler & Gross partnership shares similar traits with craftsmanship being at the forefront.
Modelled by Leigh Lezark (who also DJ’d at the launch last night) the collection (which hits stores from November) is composed of six different styles which reinvent the icons of eyewear history – paying homage to past decades.
