Placebo’s videos have always had this darker, eccentric yet pioneering visual effect – since Nancy Boy, which probably explains my obsession with the band since my early teens. With what appears to have been shot with a Phantom HD, here is the band’s latest/comeback video with a story (and voiceover) in collaboration with the incredibly talented Bret Easton Ellis.
‘Too Many Friends’ is the first single to be lifted from Placebo’s 7th studio album ‘Loud Like Love’ (out on 16th September). Lyrically, the track is a commentary on the effects of anti-social media which Brian recently explained his views on in detail to The Hunger. The Saman Kesh directed clip was shot on location in the hills above Los Angeles, on Mullholland Drive and showcases a multi-story arc giving us the option to choose which outcome we desire by the end.
