Alongside Gael Garcia Bernal, Laura Bailey, Ada Zanditon, Alexis Knox and more incredible industry personalities, I’m really proud to have just been announced as Greenpeace’s newest fashion ambassador for Detox Fashion – an initiative supporting the belief that beautiful fashion shouldn’t cause toxic pollution.
In summary, numerous brands and suppliers are knowingly and unknowingly poisoning waterways around the world with hazardous chemicals. Whilst this is more of an education piece than anything else, it’s important to raise this awareness through brand transparency which will allow us to strive for a better and toxic-free future. Brands that have taken this on board that are already committing to this include Nike, Adidas, Puma, H&M, M&S, C&A, Li-Ning, Zara, Mango, Esprit, Levi’s, Uniqlo, Benetton, Victoria’s Secret and G-Star. Check out the brilliant anime video below and sign the manifesto at www.greenpeace.org/detox. Creative credibility and a toxic-free future are not mutually exclusive.
