Auction houses are totally en vogue right now. Anyone who has seen Madonna’s W.E. will absolutely concur. Today sees the launch of a unique exhibition by Christie’s at the Museum of Mankind in London. The exhibition showcases “the collecting spirit at its most varied”: an assembly of 150 exquisite art and objects spanning 500 years, an unrivalled group of etchings by the late Lucien Freud and an insight into the eclectic tastes of young collectors at their most expressive.
It is a free public exhibition that runs until 27 January and artists featured include Picasso, Van Gogh, Miro, Tracey Emin, Takashi Murakami, Magritte, Lucian Freud, Brueghel and more. It is a really unique opportunity to view the masterpieces in such a beautiful space.
