As most of you will know, my appreciation of the mastery of digital media coupled with creativity is pretty much unparalleled. Until now, I haven’t really had the opportunity to write about my good friend Daniel Garofali – the world’s first social media super model (yes, I coined that term this summer).
Daniel has clocked up almost 13,000 Facebook fans, in excess of 4,000 Twitter followers and hundreds of thousands of YouTube hits collectively. What Daniel has done socially far outstrips the digital presence of most mainstream highly recognisable supermodels, both male and female. Creatively, he has directed almost all of his shoots in collaboration with various male form and fashion photographers, and was unsurprisingly signed to Wilhelmina Models in late 2010 alongside the likes of Coco Rocha and Adam Senn.
His 2012-2013 calendar is available to buy now on his site and Amazon.com, with a behind the scenes DVD, shot by renowned Sydney based photographer, James Demitri. Daniel is donating 50% of the profits from the Calendar to KIVA.org. Get involved.
