In the same (or at least semi-aspirational) vein as when Terry Richardson makes his subjects wear his shirts and glasses – see cases in point (Gaga and Chloe Sevigny below). The UK’s Channel 4 has commissioned an app called Closet Swap. The basic premise? To encourage people to borrow clothes from their friends instead of buying, buying buying – hence the tagline ‘Don’t shop – swap!’.
The online application (iPhone and Facebook) comes with a ‘Fashion Finder’ – so you can be rewarded with all vintage stores nearby or places that sell sustainable wears etc.
I’m also really proud to say that my good friend and eco-designer extraordinaire, Ada Zanditon is fully in support of the project in collaboration with start-up game company inensu.
