When a pop artist pours their heart and soul into a project that is new territory for them to be tackling, instead of looking to encourage them in their new creative endeavour, critics more often than not write scathing reviews about the project that are even more cutting and personal than usual. This is the case and will continue to be the case for Madonna’s WE. A three minute trailer just hit, and where I can’t exactly write a full review, from what I can see it looks charming, beautifully shot and gripping, with what alludes to be a great score/soundtrack (aside from the Amelie track, the rest is rumoured to be composed by Madonna and William Orbit). It is also worth noting that all reviews published thus far have been from screenings of unfinished versions. The trailer, as you will see, clearly states that the film is still in post-production.
