As someone who has never been a fan of Girls Aloud, bar about two songs, I never thought that one of them would end up featuring on KARLISMYUNKLE, let alone Nicola. This is her debut outing as a solo artist, after having collaborated with Diplo and Switch (a la Beyonce), the track is BEYOND solid. With a totally leftfield and gritty approach, she has completely and utterly outdone her Girls Aloud peers. She is also totally owning this style. The likes of Amy Studt brought it forward a good few of years ago, but Nicola has completely embraced her persona and image and is working it to the max. Her fondness of high fashion and beauty has also really delivered on a personal brand credibility point of view also. In two words: unpretentious and refreshing. Video under the cut.
The styling is awesome. Love the short yellow suit and side pony tail. She looks good. Also, quite like the song… BUT the whole L-O-V-E part in the high pitched girly screeeech is slightly off putting. Just saying. But, I agree… I’m impressed. It has a much more authentic feel than anything the other G.A. members have put out… (not entirely sure how much that’s saying though?). xx
