Listed as one of 25 on The New Fashion Power List 2012 and on Time Out London’s Culture 100, described by VICE magazine as “one of the premier creative minds in London” and STYLE.COM as “pushes the boundaries of the industry”, the face of Jean Paul Gaultier campaigns and projects with Louis Vuitton only begin to describe Nik Thakkar’s accolades.

Nik is a London and New York-based television personality, fashion creative and writer who has co-pioneered a broad range of award-winning global entertainment and fashion campaigns including Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese, the Diet Coke creative partnerships with Karl Lagerfeld (2011), Jean Paul Gaultier (2012) and Marc Jacobs (2013), creative design projects with Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, fashion films endorsed by Rankin and much more.

He holds close relationships with top tier influencers (fashion, music, art, design) from London to New York and Milan to Paris, and is also a columnist for The Huffington Post. Nik is the voice behind globally recognised pop couture site KARLISMYUNKLE.COM – featured and recommended by Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, VICE magazine, NOWNESS and GQ amongst others.

As a style and cultural influencer, Nik has been the face of various fashion brands (Astray, Nordic Poetry and a t-shirt collaboration between Asher Levine and Nicola Formichetti), hosts club nights with Jodie Harsh, has co-curated design-art projects and exhibitions, DJs at high profile venues (Bungalow 8, W Hotel) and has been featured in a Marina and the Diamonds music video.

He starred in his first major TV show on Fashion One (Sky) in 2013, where he was one of three judges on a panel searching for the next big fashion television presenter. This has lead to commentating on the Oscars for Sky News and presenting for major fashion brands at London Fashion Week.

In 2012, following a six year career in two of London’s top marketing-communications agencies, Nik launched creative brand consultancy Nephew London and was also appointed the role of Visionaire to creatively direct the September issue of breakthrough fashion magazine, Phoenix. He is currently working on his first multi-platform novel.
