Slightly in awe of how Moshi Monsters, the UK based children’s social network has literally sky-rocketed in numbers. It is definitely one for youth/kids marketing pros to keep their eyes peeled on. It was just announced that they hit 50 million registered users, i.e. 1 in 2 UK children aged between 6-12 own a Moshi Monster account. Brand Moshi Monsters is set to generate over £60 million, this year alone. Gems such as this Lady Gaga music video parody “The Moshi Dance” by one of their characters, Lady Goo Goo, that has racked up almost 200,000 views on YouTube alone in the space of two days is testament to this.
Moshi monsters has signed up more than 50million members since 2008 – that is HUGE! And growing at the rate of 1 signup per SECOND. Incredible! One out of every two children aged between 5 and 12 in the UK has a Moshi Monster account. Amazing!
